Because Self-Care Isn’t Selfish — It’s Soul Food.
Did you know July 23 is International Self-Care Day? A whole day devoted to the very thing we usually put at the bottom of the to-do list (right next to “organise junk drawer” and “fix the squeaky gate”). But not this time!
At Serendipity Soaps & Skincare, we believe that self-care isn’t just bubble baths and herbal tea (though yes please to both). It’s how we ground ourselves, nourish our skin, calm our busy minds, and come back to who we really are.
So, here are 24 little ways to love yourself on the 23rd — body, mind, and spirit. Some take 30 seconds, others a little longer. Mix and match. Or just pick one and do it slowly.
🌸 For Your Body
Take a long soak with our De-Stress Bath & Foot Soak – lavender, bergamot, and ylang ylang to help the world melt away.https://www.serendipitysoaps.com.au/product-page/de-stress-bath-soak
Slather on our Hydrating Face Cream – your skin deserves to feel like it just came back from a spa retreat. https://www.serendipitysoaps.com.au/product-page/hydrating-day-cream
Rub a little olive body butter into your elbows, knees, and soul. (Okay, maybe not soul, but you’ll feel it.) https://www.serendipitysoaps.com.au/product-page/olive-body-butter
Gently exfoliate with our Pink Lake Sea Salt Soap Bar – it’s like a soft desert breeze with grapefruit and May Chang. https://www.serendipitysoaps.com.au/product-page/pink-lake-sea-salt-soap-bars
Try dry brushing before your shower – trust us, it’s a weirdly satisfying ritual.
Put on hand cream before bed – our colloidal oatmeal version is like a lullaby for dry, overworked hands. https://www.serendipitysoaps.com.au/product-page/hand-cream-for-eczema-and-sensitive-skin
Tuck one of our natural wax-based Herbal Clothing Protectors into your wardrobe or drawers – let the scent of lemon tea tree, geranium and spices work its quiet, beautiful magic every time you get dressed. https://www.serendipitysoaps.com.au/product-page/natural-wardrobe-freshener
🧖♀️ For Your Mind
Light a candle and take 5 slow breaths. That’s it. No need to change your life. Just your breath.
Do absolutely nothing for five minutes. No phone. No talking. Just… sit. It’s harder than it sounds. And magical.
Write down three things you love about yourself. No eye-rolling — you do have a beautiful heart, you know.
Listen to a free 10-minute meditation while wearing your Dead Sea Mud Face Mask – spa vibes + inner stillness = yes please. https://www.serendipitysoaps.com.au/product-page/dead-sea-mud-face-mask
Drink a big glass of water with lemon. Then pretend it’s a $16 health tonic.
Turn your skincare routine into a mindfulness ritual. Feel the textures. Inhale the scent. Be present.
💛 For Your Heart
Say no to something you don’t want to do. No guilt. No apology. Just “no, thanks.”
Say yes to something you do want to do. A nap. A walk. A chocolate croissant.
Reach out to someone who fills your cup. A quick “thinking of you” text can light up a day.
Buy yourself flowers. Or pick some herbs from the garden. Or press a leaf in your journal.
Read one chapter of that book you’ve been meaning to finish. (Or reread a favourite — there are no rules.)
Unfollow people who drain your energy. Instagram should be inspiring, not exhausting.
Do something silly just because. Dance in the kitchen. Sing in the car. Wear glitter socks.
🌿 For Your Soul
Spend 10 minutes barefoot outside. Connect with the earth. Literally.
Sprinkle a few drops of essential oil in the shower – eucalyptus or orange can lift the spirits fast.
Start a gratitude list. One thing a day. Just one.
Remind yourself: you are not behind, you are not too late, and you are exactly enough. Just as you are.
You don’t need an entire day at a retreat to care for yourself. All you need is a moment — and maybe a little help from a lavender-scented soap bar or a creamy dollop of skin-loving goodness.
This July 23, let’s make space for softness, for slowness, and for saying: I matter, too.
With love and lathers,
Marta x
